Alberta PNP invites 1,500 candidates after 16 June 2026

Draw result

Date (2026)	Draw #	Stream	ITAs	Cut‑off	Tie‑break
after 16 June	,	Alberta PNP	1,500	,	,

The draw followed the one on 12 May 2026, which offered 1,200 ITAs. This time the province increased the number of invitations by 300.

The invitations target occupations listed as in‑demand by Alberta. One example is NOC 21231 (software engineers). Candidates who meet the eligibility criteria for the Alberta Express Entry stream receive an additional 600 points toward their Comprehensive Ranking System score.

Who was invited

The draw mainly concerns:

• International students who have completed a Canadian program and hold a Post‑Graduation Work Permit.
• Current work‑permit holders employed in Alberta.
• Express Entry candidates who have expressed interest in the Alberta stream.

A candidate with a CRS score of 450 who holds a PGWP in Calgary would now be eligible for the extra 600 points, pushing the total above the typical 1,200 threshold for an invitation.

If your score is below the cut‑off

You can still improve your profile within the next 60 days:

1. Submit an Expression of Interest for the Alberta stream if you haven’t done so.
2. Update your language test results or obtain a higher NOC‑aligned job offer.
3. Check that your work experience aligns with one of the province’s priority occupations (e.g., NOC 21231, NOC 31110).

Next steps after receiving an ITA

• Review the invitation letter carefully; note the 60‑day deadline for submitting a complete application.
• Gather required documents: proof of work experience, language test results, education credentials, and any provincial nomination forms.
• Upload all files to your online IRCC account before the deadline to avoid delays.

What to do now

If you have not received an invitation but meet the eligibility criteria, consider submitting an Expression of Interest for the Alberta stream today. For candidates already in the pool, update any new qualifications or job offers to strengthen your profile.
